ABOUT US

The Johnson Avenue church of Christ is a group of Christians who love God and seek to follow the Bible in everything that we do. Located in the San Diego, California area, we are a non-denominational church who welcomes anyone seeking to serve God. 

We gather together to praise and honor God, stir up love and good works (Hebrews 10:24), and to equip the saints for the work of ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ.

Our MISSION is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ so others will know Him.

What We Believe

• We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. (Matt. 16:16)
• We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and was raised so that we could have salvation from our sins. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)
• We believe we must believe and be baptized to be saved. (Mk. 16:16; Acts 16:30-33)
• We believe that Baptism is a powerful work of God which by washing away our sins takes us from our sinful (dead) state to become God's adopted children. (Col. 2:12)
• We believe that there are two great commands for those who belong to the household of God:  To love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind and to love your neighbor (everyone) as yourself (Matt. 22:37-39).
• We believe that as members of God’s household, we must submit to His authority and headship at all times.
